    Ignatia Broker was a member of the Ojibwe tribe, the Ottertail Pil-lager Band, and the A-wa-sa-si Clan. Daughter of Emma Broker and John Work Broker, she was born on February 14, at Pine Point on White Earth Indian Reservation. Her schooling began at a military style boarding school called Whapelton Indian School in North Da-kota.
